In this five week taster course we will work with various techniques and mediums. The course is aimed at both beginners and more experienced artists alike.
In week 1 we will cover basic elements of drawing tonally with charcoal, perspective, balance, and scale.
In week 2 we will introduce colour, texture and tone to create art works using chalk pastels. I will show you how colours are mixed on the paper, rather than the traditional palette and how overlaying and blending various colours, helps to create texture and a very distinct piece of art.
In week 3 we move onto watercolour, looking at various brush techniques, mixing colours, hues and tones and working with light and shadows.
We dive into acrylics for weeks 4-5, where you will learn to use water based acrylic paint, which offers vibrant colours and texture using both paint brushes and palette knives. This is a really exciting medium and one which many often to choose to work with permanently in the future.
Choose between 2 venues, either in the heart of Sitges or the heart of Sant Pere de Ribes!

KIDS ART COURSE
16 Jan-13 Feb.The Studio,C/Eduard Maristany,St Pere de Ribes
5 weeks, 60euros
This 5 week course will be based on the work of the contemporary artists, Wayne Thiebaud and Georgia O’Keeffe drawing inspiration from their colorful compositions.
These classes provide pupils with an eclectic mix of creative and stimulating opportunities to explore artists and techniques in ways that are both personally relevant and developmental in nature. Pupils will build a wealth of creative skills, developing imaginative and intuitive ways of working whilst improving artistic knowledge and their understanding of media and materials. We will reference both contemporary and traditional art works and demonstrate how the visual elements can be used to convey a range of ideas, meanings and feelings. Pupils will work with a range of materials including charcoal, watercolour, chalk pastels and acrylic paints.
Over a typical 5/6 week course, pupils will produce 3 or 4 finished pieces. Contextual information is given at the beginning of the session so that pupils are able to further develop their understanding of the work, enabling them to create interesting and exciting art by referencing a highly diverse selection of artists.
